Kapsel Water Filtration Straw is a portable hollow-fibre water filter straw for personal drinking water. You drink directly through the straw from bottles, cups or surface water while the membrane mechanically filters clear fresh water from taps, lakes, rivers or springs.

It is included in the Kapsel System to make clear surface water safer to drink when normal water supply is disrupted. The straw gives you a simple, personal backup so you can access drinking water from natural sources without pumps, power or complex setup.

Try the water filtration straw once in calm conditions so the taste, flow and handling feel familiar before you rely on it outdoors or during a disruption.

Before first use, flush the filter by drawing at least 0.5–1 litre of clean water through the straw. Sip slowly and spit out the first mouthful so any loose particles are rinsed away.
Choose clear fresh water from tap, lake, river or spring. Do not use seawater, chemically contaminated water, industrial waste or water that smells strongly or looks abnormal.
Place the straw directly into the bottle, cup or water source. If you use it with a hydration system or water bag, connect it inline or at the tubing end as shown in your Kapsel instruction book.
Drink by drawing slowly through the mouthpiece. Take steady pulls rather than fast, hard suction so the filter can work efficiently and you avoid swallowing unfiltered water from around the mouthpiece.
After use, blow residual water back out through the straw, shake out remaining drops and let it air-dry with both ends open.
If the filter has been wet and exposed to freezing temperatures, replace it. A frozen wet filter can be damaged internally and must not be used again.
