The Menstrual Cup lives in the Water & Health capsule as one of your core hygiene items. It sits next to soap sheets, hand sanitiser and the microfibre towel so anyone who menstruates has a reliable, reusable period product in the same place every time. This reduces the number of disposable items you must store and helps your Kapsel stay ready over many months without constant restocking.

Use the Kapsel Menstrual Cup as your regular period product if you prefer cups, or keep it as a backup in your Kapsel System for trips, power cuts and evacuations when access to disposable products is uncertain.

What is the Menstrual Cup and why is it in the Kapsel System?

The Kapsel Menstrual Cup is a reusable medical grade silicone menstrual cup. It is worn inside the vagina to collect menstrual blood, then removed, emptied, rinsed and reinserted. Under correct use it offers several hours of protection per insertion and can be reused for many cycles with proper cleaning and care.

In a disruption you cannot assume that your usual pads or tampons are available in the right size or brand. You may also not have space to store large packs in every kit. The Menstrual Cup is included in the Kapsel System because it gives long wear time, low waste and a dependable option that lives in your bag all year. One small cup can cover many cycles with basic access to clean water for washing, which makes planning easier for anyone who menstruates.

How do you use the Menstrual Cup in an outage or emergency?

Learn and test the menstrual cup during calm everyday cycles before you rely on it in an emergency. Always read the full instructions in the leaflet and on kapselsystem.com and contact healthcare if you are unsure whether a cup is suitable for you.

  • Before first use boil the cup in clean water for 5 to 10 minutes and let it cool.
  • Wash your hands carefully. Fold the cup as shown in the instructions, insert it and check that it has opened fully.
  • Wear the cup for up to several hours, usually 4 to 8 hours and never more than 8 to 12 hours in one insertion. Empty more often if your flow is heavy.
  • To empty, wash your hands, remove the cup gently, empty the contents into the toilet, rinse with clean water and mild unscented soap if needed and reinsert.
  • After each cycle clean the cup thoroughly, boil again for 5 to 10 minutes, allow it to dry and store it in a breathable pouch, not in an airtight plastic container.

When should you use the Menstrual Cup?

Use the Kapsel Menstrual Cup as your regular period product if you prefer cups, or keep it as a backup in your Kapsel System for trips, power cuts and evacuations when access to disposable products is uncertain.

  • Everyday cycles at home when you want a low waste option with long wear time per insertion.
  • Travel, cabin trips and work trips where you want one compact period solution instead of carrying many pads or tampons.
  • Power cuts, transport strikes or snow storms where shops may close early or have limited stock.
  • Evacuations to friends, hotels or shelters where you cannot plan for which period products will be available.

What is included with your Menstrual Cup?

The Menstrual Cup lives in the Water & Health capsule as one of your core hygiene items. It sits next to soap sheets, hand sanitiser and the microfibre towel so anyone who menstruates has a reliable, reusable period product in the same place every time. This reduces the number of disposable items you must store and helps your Kapsel stay ready over many months without constant restocking.

Plan for one menstrual cup for each adult who menstruates in your household. Some people prefer to keep two cups in different sizes or as a backup, so add an extra if you know a second size works better for certain days of the cycle. Always check the size marking on the pack and follow the manufacturer sizing guidance.

  • One reusable silicone menstrual cup in the selected size.
  • Printed instructions for use with safety information, warnings and size details.
  • Link to full manuals, EU Declaration of Conformity and further information at kapselsystem.com.
