When you'd actually use it
Not hypotheticals. The disruptions that happen to real households.
The lights go out
No power. No mobile chargers. The fridge is warming up. You grab the Kapsel bag from the hallway. The Energy & Light capsule gives you headlamp, radio and stove. You cook a simple meal, charge your phones, and follow the radio until power is back.
The taps run dry
A burst main. Contaminated supply. No warning. You open the System Bag.
The Water & Health capsule provides water filtration, first aid and hygiene essentials. Your family stays hydrated and clean while you wait for restoration.
You need to leave now
Fire. Flood. Gas leak. Minutes to get out. You grab the System Bag - already packed.
Documents, first aid, shelter, water filtration and a way to cook. Everything you need for 7 days. Your family moves fast because the preparation was already done.
Common questions
What is included in a Kapsel?
One 30L system bag and three 9-liter capsules (Energy & Light, Water & Health, Personal & Shelter) - all made from 1000D Cordura® with UTX hardware. Plus over 50 curated components, a printed handbook, and component cards for quick reference.
What is Kapsel?
Kapsel is a modular 7-day preparedness system for your home and includes: one 30L system bag, three 9-liter capsules all made from 1000D Cordura® - plus over 50 curated components, a printed handbook with scenario guides, and component cards for quick reference.
What scenarios is Kapsel designed for?
Real disruptions that happen in Swedish households: extended power outages, water supply problems, heating failures, severe storms, and situations where you need to shelter in place or leave quickly. Not wilderness survival - practical home emergency preparedness.
How many people does Kapsel cover?
The Kapsel Core System is designed as a 7-day base. For one or two people it gives a strong three day foundation. You can add extra capsules and expansions over time to match your exact household.
Where is Kapsel designed and assembled?
Kapsel is designed in Sweden and assembled and quality checked in Borås under ISO 9001 certified quality management. Components are sourced from suppliers who can show proper certificates, safety data and testing.
What is a 7 days emergency kit?
A 7-day emergency kit contains supplies to sustain you and the people you care for during a 7 days disruption when normal services may be unavailable. This is the time frame recommended by civil protection authorities as the minimum self-sufficiency period before help typically arrives.
Why 7 days specifically?
7 days is the standard recommended by the Swedish Agency for Civil Defence (MCF, formerly MSB) and international civil protection authorities. It's the typical time before emergency services can restore basic infrastructure or provide assistance during widespread disruptions.
Why three separate capsules instead of one bag?
Organisation and speed. In a real emergency, you need to find things fast -possibly in the dark, possibly stressed. Three labeled capsules with fixed positions mean you always know where everything is. No digging through a jumbled bag.
Will I be able to buy individual capsules or items?
Yes. The Core System is the starting point. Over time you will be able to add extra capsules, expansions and refills so the system can grow with your household and your experience.
What kind of components are included?
Kapsel includes professional-grade components selected for real-world performance. This includes CE-marked first aid supplies, tested water purification, reliable power banks, and durable lighting. Every component is chosen for day-three reliability, not just day-one functionality.
What certifications do the components have?
Components carry appropriate certifications including CE marking for European conformity, along with safety data sheets and test reports. We work with manufacturers who document what they sell - no mystery components.
Do components expire?
Some do - water purification tablets, water filters, body warmers, and certain first aid items have expiration dates. We track these and offer refill packs that match the originals exactly.
Can I customise the contents?
The Core System comes as a curated set - that's the point. But you can add individual components or extra capsules, and there's space in the Personal capsule for your own essentials.
What documentation comes with Kapsel?
Every Kapsel includes: a printed handbook with scenario-based guides (what to do during power outages, water problems, evacuations), component cards for quick reference, and QR codes linking to video tutorials. Written for when you're tired, stressed, or in the dark.
Why is documentation important?
Because emergencies are stressful. You won't remember what you read six months ago. Clear, simple guides - designed to be read by flashlight with cold hands - mean you can act effectively even under pressure. Documentation is what turns a bag of gear into a system.
