Everything has its place, capsule by capsule. The equipment for seven days without power, water or heat.

The system arrives unpacked. You pack it yourself with our step-by-step guide and get to know the contents along the way.
The bag is made from 1000D nylon 6.6 with a PU coating that stands up to rain and snow.
Buckles, straps and zips are chosen to be used. Each part has to hold on the day it is needed.
One system covers a household of one to three people for seven days, the level of self-sufficiency the Swedish civil defence authority recommends. Each person gets a personal set, and the household shares the rest.
From four people, two system bags are included in the same purchase, with two of everything you share. That is why the price steps up there.
The system is built on advice from Oskar Björk, adviser and co-founder of Kapsel, defence engineer at the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten). That is why the contents reflect what is actually needed when infrastructure fails.
Every system is quality-assured in Borås before it ships.
Free delivery. Every order ships from Sweden.
30-day free returns. The return link is in the delivery confirmation.
We stand behind every system. If something arrives faulty or develops a fault, we put it right. Contact us and we replace the part or the system.
Independent test
Testproffs compared eight emergency kits sold in Sweden and put Kapsel Core first. In their own review they gave it 9.6 out of 10.

Instructions & Plans
A system includes knowing how to use it, so the handbook is developed alongside the components and tested in the same scenarios. Printed, bilingual, and built to be read under stress.
No tiny text and no confusing diagrams. Written so anyone in the household can find the right page and use the thing correctly, not just the person who ordered it.
The plans section is where your household writes down what only you know. The numbers that matter, where you meet if you cannot get home, who calls whom first.
Printed and kept in the capsule. No power, no signal and no internet required, which is the entire situation it exists for.
The system arrives unpacked. You pack it yourself with our step-by-step guide and get to know the contents along the way.

When you would use it
Not wilderness survival. The ordinary disruptions, and where in the system the answer already is.
The headlamp and the radio are in the same capsule, in the same place.
The filter straw is in Water & Health, and every person has their own filter bottle in Personal & Shelter.
The bag goes on your back, with everything still in its place.
The first aid kit is in Water & Health, labelled and easy to take with you.
None of this is rare. It is just easier with everything already in the hallway.
"The best preparedness is the one you actually have at home, packed and ready, and you know where it is."
Oskar Björk · adviser and co-founder of Kapsel, defence engineer at the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten)
A very good product, well thought through and good-looking. Something every household should have!
It feels safe to have it at home, and it is very nicely designed.
A good idea to pack it yourself, very happy with both the contents and the instructions
Kapsel against doing it yourself
The same job, done once, properly. The research, the selection and the quality control are already behind you.
| Criterion | The Kapsel system | Building it yourself |
|---|---|---|
| The right components for seven days | Chosen by a defence engineer | Weeks of research |
| Sized to your household | 1 to 6 people, 37 to 98 components | Hard to get right |
| Handbook and instructions | Printed guide and videos | None |
| Time to put together | One evening | Weeks of shopping |
| Reminders and updates | Included, twice a year | You keep track yourself |
No, it arrives unpacked. You pack the capsules yourselves with the handbook, step by step. That way you know what is there and where everything is when you need it.
Food is not included, and neither is a water container. A filtered water bottle and a water filtration straw are included, so you can purify water. Food and drinking water to store you buy yourself, based on what your household eats and drinks.
The Swedish Agency for Civil Defence recommends that every household can manage without help from society for at least a week. Not a weekend, not three days. That is the benchmark the system is built to.
Most components last between two and five years. We remind you twice a year when it is time to check the consumables, so nothing quietly expires in the hallway.
Yes, that is what it was designed for. It takes about the same space as a backpack and is built to be left in view rather than hidden in a loft.
Each person gets a personal set, and the household shares the rest. For one to three people one system bag is enough. From four people, two system bags are included in the same purchase, with two of everything you share.

Then you already know the hard part is knowing what is missing. Kapsel is a documented system. Every component carries a register number and a reason for being there, so the gaps become visible instead of assumed. Plenty of people keep what they own and buy the system for the structure around it.
A printed handbook walks you through every capsule, each component is labelled with its place, and short films show the ones that need showing. It works without power, signal or internet, which is the entire situation it exists for.
You have 30 days. Send it back and you get your money back, return shipping included. Preparedness you regret buying is not preparedness, so we would rather you had it at home for a month than wondered about it for a year.
