What is the Kapsel Power Bank and why is it in the Kapsel System?

Kapsel Power Bank is a portable lithium-ion power source for charging mobile phones and other small electronic devices via USB. It has USB-C input for charging the power bank itself and USB-A and USB-C outputs for charging your devices.

It is included in the Kapsel System to give you a controlled reserve of electricity when the grid is unstable. The power bank lets you keep at least one phone alive, support your crank radio or headlamp and stay reachable when sockets and normal chargers are not available.

How do you use the Kapsel Power Bank in an outage or emergency?

Use the power bank once in normal conditions so you know how to charge it and how it behaves with your own devices.

  1. Before first use, fully charge the power bank with a certified USB-C charger. Connect the charger to a wall outlet and the USB-C input on the power bank. Charge between 0 and 35 °C and do not leave it unattended while charging.
  2. Check that the housing and cables are undamaged before use. Do not use or charge the power bank if the casing is cracked, swollen or shows visible defects.
  3. To charge a device, connect it with a suitable USB-A or USB-C cable to the matching output port. Make sure the device’s power draw does not exceed the labelled output values of the power bank.
  4. Disconnect your phone or device once it is fully charged. This saves capacity for the next charge and reduces unnecessary heat and wear.
  5. During longer outages, use the power bank mainly for critical communication such as calls, messages and essential apps. Avoid draining it on high-draw uses like long video streaming.
  6. For long-term storage, keep the charge level around 50–70 percent and recharge at least every three months so the battery does not deep-discharge.

When should you use the Kapsel Power Bank?

The Kapsel Power Bank is meant to bridge realistic gaps in electricity – at home, on the road and in everyday life.

  1. Short power cuts at home: Use the power bank to keep one phone active while you wait for power to return, instead of draining all devices at once.
  2. Longer outages and storms: When an outage lasts for hours or more, the power bank becomes your reserve for emergency calls, updates from authorities and access to digital documents.
  3. At home, travel, car and cabin: Keep the power bank in your Kapsel bag or glove compartment so you have reliable USB power on trips, in the car or at a countryside cabin with limited sockets.
  4. Everyday backup: Use it as a normal power bank in daily life if needed, then recharge and return it to its place in your Energy & Light capsule so it is ready when something happens.

For most households, one power bank per Kapsel System is enough if you are disciplined with how you use it. If you depend heavily on your phone for work, medical support or navigation, or if you maintain separate kits in a car or second home, you may choose one additional unit.
