Kapsel First Aid Kit is what you need to take care of minor injuries: clean a wound, stop minor bleeding, dress it, support a joint and keep someone warm. Sterile and non-sterile single-use items, plus scissors, tweezers, a triangular bandage, a constriction band and a rescue blanket. Bought on its own, the parts come separately. In Kapsel Core they have their place in the Water & Health capsule. The full contents are listed under What's included. When everyday life is disrupted, the most common injuries are small but urgent: a cut at the gas stove, a fall on a dark staircase, a burn from a hot pan or a sprained ankle. With the kit you can stop minor bleeding, clean a wound and protect the skin straight away, instead of improvising with kitchen roll and tape. That lowers the risk of infection and puts the right things in your hands until you reach care.

When you will need it

Use the kit for minor injuries you can handle yourself, at home or on the way to help: cuts, grazes, superficial burns, blisters and mild sprains. Call 112 or seek care straight away for heavy bleeding, a suspected broken bone, breathing difficulties, chest pain, head or neck injuries, or if you're unsure.

Cooking on the gas stove during a power cut: you cut your finger. You clean it with a wipe, put on a compress and add a plaster.
Broken glass in a dark hallway: you clean a small cut on your foot, dress it and tape a compress in place before you move on.
A burn from a hot pan or hob: you cool it with clean, cool water and apply the burn dressing as instructed before you seek advice.
A sprained ankle on the stairs: you support the joint with an elastic bandage and let the person sit still while you decide what to do next.
A fall outdoors while travelling or when you've had to leave home: you use cleansing wipes, dressings, the triangular bandage and the rescue blanket to keep the person warm and stable until you reach care or the ambulance arrives.

How to use it

Go through the kit when things are calm. Open it once, read the handbook and see where everything is: cleaning, dressings, bandages and tools. Then your hands know what to reach for when someone gets hurt.

Make sure the area is safe for you and the injured person.
Wash or sanitise your hands, or put on the gloves.
Open the kit and choose what suits the injury: wipe, compress, bandage or tape.
Clean gently if you can.
Place the right dressing over the wound and secure it with tape or a bandage, without cutting off the blood flow.
Use the scissors, tweezers, triangular bandage, constriction band and rescue blanket according to general first aid advice and what you've learned.
Keep the person warm and calm. Seek medical advice or call 112 if you're unsure or the injury is serious.
